Hi everyone, just got a very suspicious scam email that threatens to leak my information.

It has been sent from an email address that looked exactly like mine, that is the first problem;

when I reported it in outlook, the email itself supposed to disappear, but it would reappear in few seconds after I reported it, and did not stopped reappearing until i blocked it;

the email has said that it installed a so called spyware program that can monitors the activities of devices, i had run tests on my devices, nothing bad comes out but, I still have worries;

and I just found out that there has been a month worth of unsuccessful log ins trying to log in my account from various locations, last attempt was 2 hours ago.

I have done what I have known until now to help myself and my account, but all the worries could not be cleared.

I would like to have a direct and one on one help from the staffs inside of microsoft to completely clear off the threat and my worries.

Please. If this doesn't get solve completely, I might be anxious until death.

    Hey there, Izel

    Please don't worry. If they are trying to get access to your account, please make sure you secure your account by putting security information on your account. You can do this by updating your security information here: https://account.live.com/proofs/manage/additional

    If you feel as though spyware has been installed onto your computer/device, please open your antivirus software and run a complete system scan on your computer. This will detect any threats and remove them.

    Lastly, I get these emails continuously, and ignore them. The user behind the email has spoofed your email address. They do this to make you think they have sent the email using your account and to try and bypass the SPAM filters. This helps give the illusion that they have "hacked" your account, when infect, they haven't. They do this to try and scare you into giving them what they want.

    If you make sure your account is secure with two-factor authentication and has the latest security information stored on the account, you should be fine. Just don't click on any of their links.

    Hope this information helps,
    Nathan
