How to add a custom path in the location tab of the shortcut menu.

Good day

I have a problem on how to push a shortcut on RDP desktop users.
Usually this should be an easy fix:

I go in User configuration-Preferences-Windows settings- SHortcuts and I add the required shortcuts like this:
46899-capture.png

My problem is the location

Indeed, since we use folder redirection and the desktop is sent to \servername\donnees$\%USERNAME%\Desktop.

Sadly, the default desktop in the GPO location tab links to the local desktop. Because of that the shortcuts never appears. The location tab does not offer me any possibility to put a path by myself.

What are my options to solve this? Is there another place in the GPO's where I could add shortcuts or is there a workaround in this section?
Thank you for your help in advance

Cheers

    Hello,

Thank you so much for posting here.

I did the test in my lab. If the desktop is redirected to the shared path, we could create the shortcut on the desktop. For example:

    47317-11.png

    47279-12.png

    47371-13.png

    47357-14.png

Hope we could kindly have a recheck. Since the shortcuts GPO was not applied, we could check the gpresult report to see whether there is any error message.

To get the gpresult report, we could follow the steps:

    1. Logon one client with domain user account who is within the OU linked by the GPO.
    2. Create a new folder in C drive named Folder.
    3. Open CMD, type gpresult /h C:\Folder\report.html and click Enter.
    4. Open report file to check the policies under User Details.

For any question, please feel free to contact us.

    Best regards,
    Hannah Xiong
