I did the test in my lab. If the desktop is redirected to the shared path, we could create the shortcut on the desktop. For example:
Hope we could kindly have a recheck. Since the shortcuts GPO was not applied, we could check the gpresult report to see whether there is any error message.
To get the gpresult report, we could follow the steps:
- Logon one client with domain user account who is within the OU linked by the GPO.
- Create a new folder in C drive named Folder.
- Open CMD, type gpresult /h C:\Folder\report.html and click Enter.
- Open report file to check the policies under User Details.
