Hi Folks:

I'm running Win 10 Pro 2004, installed October 8th.

I asked this question a couple of months ago, but have been unable to follow up on the resolution until now.

The problem I'm having is "Turn on BitLocker" isn't an option when I right click on any thumb drive.

I can turn on BitLocker for my internal drives and I can run BitLocker on thumb drives and internal drives.

I just can't turn it on for a freshly formatted thumb drive.

Here is the original question I posted on October 18th:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/answers/questions/130008/no-bitlocker-for-thumb-drive.html

I'm not seeing any button on that page to push in order to continue that conversation, so I'll pick it up here.

MTG-6756 asked to see the registry key HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\FVE

That key isn't present:

Suggestions?

Thanks
Larry

    Hi,
You could try using use DISKPART to set the partition you wish to encrypt as INACTIVE. This will allow you to Encrypt with Bitlocker. See below screenshot that shows marking a Partition on a USB Flash Drive as INACTIVE

    Then reattach your Thumb Drive.
Please feel free to let us know if you need further assistance.

    Best regards.
