Why does a folder appear to be empty on SharePoint even though I can access its files via email links?

Hello,

When I open folders on SharePoint they appear to be empty. However I know there are files in there because when my colleagues link me to the files I am able to open them. 'Sometimes' the files are visible but most of the time they do not appear. Any ideas? Thank you.

    Hi @Sam,

Per my test, this should be an expected behavior. If your colleagues share the files with you by sharelink, you will only have the access to the files they shared with you. You could access the folder, but only the files they shared is visible to you. If you want to see all the files in the folder or library, you need to be shared with the whole library of folder like following

    User's image

You could also check if you have the permission to the folder by Manage access.
