WSUS - Can't create computer group - The group already exists

Hi,
How could i solve it? (Error Creating Computer Group - The group already exists)
There is no group visible in the WSUS console within the group where i want to create the new group.

    Thanks for your response.

    I tested it in my lab environment. But it failed just like your environment. It seems that it is by the design. I will try the best to deliver the information to the product team to see if they have some additional comments, but not guaranteed. once there is a reply, i will get back to you at the first time.

    Also it is recommended to get support and post our ideas to the Windows Server UserVoice.

    Thanks for your posting on this forum.

    Have you tried to clean up the database recently? Perhaps we could try to clean up the database by the Server Cleanup Wizard first. Also we could try to index the database as this link.

    After following the above, we could try to delete the file as the below picture. Please don't forget to inform me in time if there are any feedback.

    Hi RitaHu,
    unfortunately it didn't help (Cleanup -> Script -> WSUS file).

    Result:

    I can't add 2 folders with the same name in general. I created a subgroup named "test" and wanted to create an new subgroup in an other group with the name "test". It doesn't work. I get the same message.

    (Sorry, edited because that was confusing.)

    Can you post a screenshot of ALL of the computer groups EXPANDED, and the name you're trying to add?

    There was a discussion in my company to handle terminal servers separated in a subgroup. I think it's ok for us to keep it all in 1 group per customer. I don't know if it's relevant for other WSUS users. Maybe i'm the only one with this problem?! I know it worked a few month ago on another 2012 server (we installed a new WSUS on a 2019 server).
