Unable to map a sharepoint online document library as Network drvie

Question

Inside windows 10 machines i am trying to map a SharePoint Online document library as a network map drive. when i tried to do the following; Go to This PC >> Right click on Network >> Map network drive:-

Enter the sharepoint online document library url as follow:-

but i got this error:-

now i read this article @ Mapping SharePoint Libraries >> so i added the sharepoint online site as trusted site >> i login to sharepoint using IE >> now this worked on one machine while it stay failed on another.. so can anyone advice how i can map a sharepoint online document library as a mapped network drive inside windows 10?

I would strongly recommend using the OneDrive sync client to synchronize each Document Library (keeping in mind the limits of 300K files total sync'ed but exceeding 100K total files may degrade the OneDrive sync client performance).

As M365 will retire support for IE in March of 2021 which is required to use WebDAV, I would expect WebDAV support to be removed following that IE retirement at some point (could be 2021, could be years later).

Hi @john john ,

Please add the trust site in IE like this:

https://domain.sharepoint.com/*  

In addition, Mapping a network drive uses WebDav, an older technology which is slower and less reliable than syncing SharePoint files with the new OneDrive sync client. The OneDrive sync client provides Files On-Demand, which allows you to access all your files in OneDrive without using local storage space.
