I am having trouble in installing C++ MFC component on Visual Studio 2022 professional as well as community editions. It installs C++ MFC component. But if I check again, C++ MFC is unchecked in the install list checkbox. I did this several times. But still the same.
I need this to link Media Foundation lib files.

I am trying to link a C++ DLL project with the following codes that uses Media Foundation. But I get link error with "LNK1104 cannot open file 'mfapi.lib'".

To clarify, there are several different versions of MFC available to install. You need to install the right one.

The libraries you mentioned are part of the Windows SDK, not MFC. There isn't an mfapi.lib that I'm aware of. The more recent libraries are just contained in: evr.lib, mf.lib and mfplat.lib. These are the libraries you'd link to. Assuming you're using the Windows SDK in your compiler settings then the libraries should be available.
Note that you are adding a #pragma to include them. Normally you just add them to your linker input settings so they are available for all your source files.
Please show us the function(s) you're trying to use and the actual linker error message.
Yes. It's win32 API. I think it's deplicated.

Media foundation is Win32 library, not MFC.
There is no mfapi.lib and mfidl.lib.
mfapi.h -> Mfplat.lib
mfidl.h -> Mf.lib
mfobjects.h -> Mfuuid.lib
mfreadwrite.h -> Mfreadwrite.lib
