Relevant specs:

Host:

  • Optiplex Micro 7010 - Windows 11 Pro 23H2, Build 22631.4037

Remote Access:

  • iPad Air (5th Generation), Magic Keyboard for iPad Pro/Air, iPadOS 17.5.1, Microsoft Remote Desktop Mobile App ver. 10.5.9 (LATEST AS OF TIME OF WRITING).

NOTE: Access from a fully updated Windows PC utilizing the microsoft RDP client functions as intended.

Affected applications:

Powershell (only when admin elevated)

Hyper-V (only in virtual machines)

Behavior:

Above mentioned apps on host will register copy/paste, new line, and most inputs other than those requiring alphanumeric or symbol keys. Mouse is fully functional.

I have found documentation of this issue in some form from years ago and the solutions seem to fall flat. Please advise as to any troubleshooting steps.

    Hello,

I recommend trying the Windows App. This may have better performance than the old rd client.I suggest giving the Windows App a try, as it may offer improved performance over the older RD client. Below is some information about this app:

The Remote Desktop app is changing to Windows App. Download and install Windows App for iOS and iPadOS by going to Windows App in TestFlight .

During the preview, we're using TestFlight from Apple, which has a capacity limit. Participation is on a first-come, first-served basis. If you're accepted into the preview from TestFlight, we might not be able to accommodate your availability for its full duration. As spaces are limited, we rotate participants to reach a wider testing audience. We rotate a subset of participants on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday at 4 PM PST each month, so if there's not capacity now, please check back.
