Thank you for posting this in Microsoft Q&A.

As I understand you are getting an error while upgrading AD connect to latest version.

Usually, this error comes up when you have MFA enabled, you may want to make sure that MFA is disabled for the user account that you use as Azure AD global administrator account. That might be able to fix the sync for the error that you mentioned in the main post.

Also, this issue can be caused when TLS 1.2 is not enabled.

In the recent releases of Entra connect the communication happens via TLS 1.2. Make sure TLS 1.2 is enabled in your Entra connect server.
