Issue with 802.1x

We are experiencing authentication issues (802.1x) with some terminals running Windows 10 Enterprise 22h2 (all updated). We use the Cisco ISE platform for 802.1x, and for the affected terminals, we receive the error "12934 Supplicant stopped responding to ISE during PEAP tunnel establishment," with no further details.

By capturing traffic with Wireshark from both the ISE side and the terminal side, we observed that when the session timer expires (600 seconds), the switch requests re-authentication from the terminal, but the terminal never responds (the same capture is evident from both ends).

This leads us to the clear conclusion that the issue lies on the terminal side, which, for unknown reasons, decides not to respond to re-authentication requests. If the network cable is unplugged and reconnected, the terminal authenticates correctly. However, after some time, the problem recurs.

We are certain that it is an issue at the Windows level, but we cannot find documentation on this. Any help would be appreciated.

    Update Network driver.

    Open Event Viewer

Check System and Application logs for errors related to Wired AutoConfig or PEAP authentication.

Ensure the following services are running:

    Wired AutoConfig

    PEAP Authentication

    Network List Service

    Network Location Awareness
