SMTP Connector with Scan to e-mail's printer Sharp

I have several photocopiers at several customers that are configured with the Office 365 SMTP connector (for example: mairiekoumac-nc01e.mail.protection.outlook.com).

I followed the recommendations of option 3 of the Microsoft article:

• Creation of an SMTP connector with the public IP address of the company.
• Configuration of the photocopier with the MX server of the Office 365 tenant.
• Configuration of port 25, activation of SSL/TLS and deactivation of SMTP authentication.
• Entering the correct SPF/TXT value on the DNS provider with the value ip4:202.22.X.X

Error 80-000 on Sharp MX-C304W

The photocopier indicates that the connection to the SMTP server is functional, but when I send an email to an address that is part of the customer's Office 365 tenant, the Sharp MX-C304W photocopier generates an error "80-0000" which corresponds to an authentication error, or a bad identifier.

I have already configured this function for other companies, and I have never encountered this situation.

Has anyone already encountered this error?

Based on your description, I understand there is an issue when you configure a connector to send emails using M365.

Please kindly go into security settings → SSL settings and make sure “Level of Encryption” is medium. Then, go to System Settings → Image Send Settings → Scan Settings, add the same address you use inside SMTP settings on reply e-mail address to see if it works.
