How can MS determine if I already purchased Windows 10?

Question

I believe that I have already purchased Windows 10 as my computer was upgraded to it before I had to reset my hard drive and load Windows 7 on my computer. Is there anyway that MS can find the records of my purchase and provide me the license key so that I can now upgrade to Windows 10 again?

Did you upgrade from win7 to win10 before?
If so, you can upgrade again.

If you bought Windows 10 from Microsoft Store.
To view the list of purchase list from Microsoft Store. Please refer to the below Microsoft Help Article and check if it helps.
