Hello,
It sounds like you’re experiencing a significant issue after installing your new GPU and drivers. Here’s a step-by-step guide that might help you troubleshoot the problem:
Check Device Manager:
press Win + X and select Device Manager. Look for your GPU under “Display adapters” and check if it’s recognized properly without any warning icons.
Re-run DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller):
Run DDU again to ensure that the old drivers are completely removed. It’s a good practice to remove both NVIDIA and AMD drivers if you’re switching from one brand to another. Be sure to select the correct device type (GPU) and the specific vendor (NVIDIA or AMD) whose drivers you wish to uninstall.
Reinstall AMD Drivers:
After ensuring that the old drivers are completely purged, download the latest AMD drivers for your RX 6600 from the official AMD website, preferably using another computer or device if you’re unable to do so on your current system due to the issues.
Install the drivers while still in Safe Mode if possible or, if not, after a normal boot if Safe Mode doesn’t allow the installation.
Check for Windows Updates:
Sometimes, issues can be related to Windows being out of date. Check for any pending Windows updates that could be important for system stability.
Check Hardware Connections:
Make sure that your GPU is properly seated in the PCIe slot and that the power connectors from the PSU are securely plugged into the GPU. A loose connection can cause instability or prevent the GPU from being recognized correctly.
Best Regards,
Hania Lian
