Exchange 2016 Installation creates mailbox

After installing Exchange and performing the HCW process we discovered that a new mailbox was created for the domain admin account that was used during the procedure. Of course, prior to installing either piece, this account did not have a mailbox associated with it. I have gotten affirmative feed back that this was not caused buy the HCW installation which is what we thought initially. Can anyone confirm if this mailbox was created during the Exchange 2016 install?

    Hi @jpcapone

    Yes, mailbox will be created for the account used to install the Exchange Mailbox server role. Exchange mailbox role will create a default database with administrator mailbox and arbitration mailboxes. HCW will not create any mailboxes.
