Hi,
Migrating from Exchange on-premises to Exchange Online and noticed that after migration the "info" or "Notes" field is now mapped to the AD description instead of the "info" data. Unsure why this has changed but would like to know if there is any way to resolve this issue?

The Notes field in that screen shot is the Info attribute. You said before "noticed that after migration the "info" or "Notes" field is now mapped to the AD description instead of the "info" data"
That is not the description field.
The Notes (info) field from AD on-prem does not show up in Outlook in Exchange Online as you can see. Unless you have other examples where it does

Based on my research, "Notes" field on "Telephone" tab of ADUC is "Info" and that attribute is currently not consumed for groups using the Azure AD Connect Synchronization.

Thanks for the reply, however it is strange that the in on-premises Exchange the info attribute appears in Notes in Exchange for DL's, however in Exchange Online it seems to map to the description field instead.

Those are two different attributes.
The on-prem AD attributes Info and Description are both synced to Azure, but only Description is surfaced.
What command are you running to see that?
Yep, in AD Connect I can see both are synced. the problem is that an on-premises Exchange user when opening the properties of a DL in outlook sees the contents of the info field in Notes (Outlook) but a migrated EOL user sees the contents of the Description AD field in Notes (Outlook). Strange that the same field in the Outlook client displays different values.
I see the info field populated for 365 Groups and DLs which are 365 mastered.
I do not see that for standard Distribution Groups synced from on-prem.
Someone hasnt done some thing crazy and mapped info to Description in AADConnect have they?

That interesting that you are not experiencing the same problem. It would not be an issue if it were only the case for O365 groups. The problem I have is that this is occurring for synced groups as well and it changing the user experience after migration to Exchange Online.

Hi, the field in Outlook I am referring to is highlighted in the screenshot below, I cannot see any custom rules in AD connect mapping this attribute to anything else. The corresponding AD attribute for this field in Exchange on-premises seems to be the Info attribute. In AD connect I can see info is mapped to info in Azure AD as well.

I checked the same in my environment. “Notes” in outlook is mapped to “Info” attribute.
May I know are your referencing to the below field by saying “AD Description”? Could you please take a screenshot to us so that we can do more tests and research on it.
