SCCM Deployment Status Shows Error in Console but Reports as Success – Need Help Understanding the Cause
Hello,
I’m facing a confusing issue with software deployment in SCCM. I deployed software as "Required" via SCCM, and while some client PCs successfully installed the application, the deployment status in the SCCM console shows an error.
Here’s a summary of the issue:
- The software installs successfully on the client PCs.
- In the SCCM console, these successful installations are showing as "Error" under the status type.
- In the reports, the error code is
0x0 (0)
, which usually indicates success, and the error description also says "Success."
I’ve attached a screenshot of the deployment status report for reference:
I would like to understand why this discrepancy occurs. Could it be related to the packaging of the software, or is there another issue that might be causing this mismatch between the console and the reporting?
Thank you for your help!

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Q&A forum.
Detection rules. That snippet just shows that the installer exited with code 0 which is success. However, look further/elsewhere in the logs to see if the app was successfully detected. Take a look at AppDiscovery.log on the client to verify this.
