Hi,

I've just started to use SSAS tabular model in my company and I'm surprise that the name of the calculated key figure has a structuring effect for the next development. Meaning the change of the name impact all reports based on that kpis.

Usually, we have an id and label and with SSAS the label is the id.

So, the solution that I found is create kpis with technical name and replicate same kpis with functional name by refering to the second on the first.

Is somebody could help me to understand potential impact that I haven't seen, example :
performance, limit of number of kpi (because we, at minimun duplicate all kpi's),

thanks for your help

    Hi,

Thanks for the posting. This is actually an interesting case. I searched the doc, it seems ,the official doc does not explicitly claim the limit for the KPIs in Tabular. From what I saw, I haven't heard there is limitation for this.

I think to create duplicated KPI for Alias use is a good work around for you situation, and should not impact you tabular model, in my opinion.

    Regards,
    Lukas

I don't want to display the technical name, I just want to avoid to break reports including this kpi and remap it if I change the measure label.
