Why is Microsoft Teams still saying it needs an update in Defender but we have updated all the exposed devices?

There could be several reasons why Microsoft Teams is still flagged as needing an update in Microsoft Defender, despite updating all the exposed devices:

Cache or Sync Issues: Sometimes, Defender's status might not immediately update due to caching or syncing issues. It may take some time for the updates to reflect.

Partial Updates: Ensure that all components of Microsoft Teams have been updated. Sometimes an update might apply to different modules or components, and missing even one can cause the alert to persist.

We've got this same issue, even when you look at a devices version # on itself and on the device in MDE they version #'s don't match. We thought it was "new teams" and "classic teams", but classic is now EOL and replaced. and still, it says devices needs teams updates.
