Error: "Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown." when I try to create a new project in Fortran

I cannot create a new project or solution related to Fortran in Visual Studio 2022 Community. I get the error: "Exception of type 'System.Exception' was thrown." I already tried:

The solution posted here: https://github.com/CosmosOS/Cosmos/issues/2759#issuecomment-1704386843. It didn't work for me since I didn't have any 'dotnet' variable path in my list. I installed .net SDK for Visual Studio (https://dotnet.microsoft.com/en-us/download/visual-studio-sdks), and now I see the 'dotnet' variable path in the list, but that has not solved the problem
Repairing the installation
Remove everything and Re-installing
Update to the latest version
Going back to the previous version

Hello, are you using VS2022? Did it occur when creating Cosmos Kernal project template in VS?

Please ensure that you installed the supported version of .NET.

You can open the CMD and run "dotnet --info" command to check the installed .NET SDK.

I am not sure what the Cosmos Kernel project is (I am new to programming), but right now I just trying the three options (create a project, create a solution, create a project (Tutorial)) and the three give me the error reported. I verified that I have .NET SDK installed (Version 8.0.401) following your instructions

Please try to repair your VS with Visual Studio Installer > More > Repair.

Sorry, when I said, "I tried the three options," I meant these three possible templates that appear in the picture attached. Whenever I try to use any of these templates, It gives me the same error. I already tried repairing the installation, but it did not solve the problem. Is there anything else I could try?

Hello, I tried the three project templates and they could be created successfully.

Please open the Visual Studio installer > Modify > Individual components tab > install all F# components.

Then, re-launch your VS and create F# project again.

Note that F# is not Fortran.

Fortran probably requires some third-party components.

Thank you for the clarification @Viorel . I was confused about that. I wanted to run a very old Fortran code. Now, I installed the third-party components from Intel, and I can create my Fortran projects without issue.

Fortran as project type / pligin from Intel? Then contact Intel support.
