How to increase logout timeout on Windows Server 2022

We have upgraded to Windows Server 2022 and I am wondering if there is a way to increase the logout timout? It is very annoying when supporting multiple servers and when returning to a Windows 2002 server it seems to logout after a very short period of time. Windows 2016 and Windows 2012 did not have this "feature"

Thanks

    Hello

To increase the logout timeout on Windows Server 2022, you can adjust the session time limits through Group Policy or the Local Security Policy.

    Using Group Policy:

Open the Group Policy Management Console (GPMC) on your server.

Navigate to Computer Configuration > Administrative Templates > Windows Components > Remote Desktop Services > Remote Desktop Session Host > Session Time Limits.

Here, you can configure the settings for "Set time limit for active but idle Remote Desktop Services sessions" and "Set time limit for disconnected sessions" to your desired timeout values.

    Using Local Security Policy:

Open the Local Security Policy editor by typing secpol.msc in the Run dialog (Win + R).

Navigate to Local Policies > Security Options.

Look for the policy named "Interactive logon: Machine inactivity limit" and set it to your desired timeout value.
