OneDrive syncing issues, latest update not showing

I have been using OneDrive for almost 5 years now to share files with a friend of mine. He has the files under his own Microsoft account and shares the entire folder with me. This has always worked well so far with synchronization and updates of files such as Excel, word, photos, etc.)
I have noticed that OneDrive no longer synchronizes properly and that I only see the versions up to 28-3-2024 and before. From 28-3-2024 to the present, many files & folders have been added and removed. I cannot find these under my account.
What is strange is that the files on the owner's Microsoft account are correct and remain up-to-date.

What we have already tried:

  • Withdraw and re-grant access to file folder
  • Log in from another device (Phone + other PC on another network)

It did work once from my phone to see the recent files. The next day my version was back to (up to 28-3-2024)

I use an Intune laptop from my employer. My laptop automatically synchronizes with my work email. I manually log in via the website in Onedrive with my personal email (with which the files are shared).
There is also no error message to fix this problem.
What is going wrong, can someone help me with this?

    Sorry to jump on this thread but I have the exact same problem. I log in at least once a week to onedrive which is shared from my sister to myself for work, and last week (Friday 6th) I logged on to find that it had deleted all files and data from 28/03/24. I was as though I had just logged back in in March! I also had access to the current one drive files on my phone but not on my laptop or my macbook. I have resynced and done all that I can find online to help including my sister resharing the onedrive files with me again, but nothing is working.

    Onedrive is working perfectly for my sister, it is just on my log in that it will not work on laptop or macbook.

    Seems odd that it is the same date as the person posting this thread?

    I have wiped my intune laptop and installed it again in intune. I didn't had Onedrive on my local computer and was not syncing. Now i have Onedrive and syncing with my work account.

    The files in Onedrive are on my personal account but I have no idea why it is working now. I will wait untill the end of this week before closing this call. Thank you!

    Unfortunately the data has changed again and is not up-to-date anymore. We are back at where we started. All data is updated till 28 march 2024.

    The issue has still not been fixed and I have lost all data. Made a new onedrive with new folders. That works, but how can I get access to my data that has been between 28/03/2024 till september?
