Hi All,

Is it possible to set up a forwarder for an Office 365 unified group? I have a requirement to forward emails sent to the unified group email address to an application hosted outside of my domain. lets say my unified group email address is ******@contoso.com, i want to setup forwarder for ******@somedomain.com, i have mail contact created for ******@somedomain.com in my domain.

    Hi,@Glenn Maxwell

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Q&A forum.

I agree with Vasil Michev's suggestion.

Firstly, there is no official article stating that it is possible to forward emails sent to an Office 365 group to another account, I did some research and testing and found that it really isn't possible.

If you want to achieve the functionality you want, you might consider the following two suggestions:

    1. You can create a separate Office 365 account (with another email address) and add him as a unique member of an Office 365 group.
    2. Then you can set up email forwarding for the account's mailbox using the Delivery option. Email forwarding allows email to be forwarded to other user mailboxes inside or outside the organisation.

Use a mail flow rule. You cannot configure forwarding directly on the group, and you cannot add Mail contacts as members. Technically speaking, you can add a mail user as a member, so you can also use that as workaround.
