My Microsoft Edge browser is hacked or infected with a malicious application. My internet connection is hijacked. At the moment, I can tell that I'm only connecting via ipv6. I can't download another internet browser or antimalware. Because I'm always redirected to a different website than the official on. The system is infected with malicious software from McAfee, Norton, and others that keep recycling thru Microsoft Edge. You can not delete Microsoft Edge and only the "Repair" works that still comes back infected. If you reset your system as I did with another software package and delete Microsoft Edge from the "Startup" system, I can boot Windows 11 24H2 Beta, and the system works fine without any malicious coding. I'm using DuckDuckGo for the internet and it works fine.

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

Please kindly try below steps and see if it helps:

1.Use Windows Defender Offline Scan under Security settings -> Virus & threat protection -> Scan options -> Microsoft Defender Antivirus (offline scan) -> Scan now

2.Reset the network under Settings > Network & Internet > Status -> Network reset.

3.Boot the machine in safe mode and check if issue persists.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,

    Jill Zhou

I never got to try your suggestion, because I deleted all of the Edge information, files etc for Microsoft Edge from my computer. Instead I started to use DuckDuckGo as my web browser for the Microsoft 24H2 software. Since I was having no problems with the new web browser I downloaded Microsoft Edge again for the 24H2 version and installed it. It has now been running without any malicious intruders.

I did notice with this beta software that the 24H2 4/18/2024, OS Build 26120.1542, Package 1000.26100.18.0, is still the same version now as when I got the malicious attack on Edge.

One thing I lost when I re-installed Edge, is that I no longer have access to Co-Pilot, is there a way to retrieve it? Is the above OS Build and Package still the latest for this beta?

    David..
