Hi @Julie Kouri
According to our tests, in Microsoft Teams, it is not possible to directly store the same document in two different channels and automatically synchronize updates.
However, you can achieve a similar effect by the following methods:
Use SharePoint or OneDrive link: Store the document in SharePoint (OneDrive), and then add a link to the document in both channels. In this way, no matter which channel the document is edited, the same SharePoint file will be updated.
The specific steps are:
- Upload the document to SharePoint: In Teams, select the channel where you want to store the document. Click the "File" tab at the top of the channel. Select "Open in SharePoint", which will open the SharePoint site of the channel and upload the document you want to share.
- Get the SharePoint document link: In the SharePoint site, select the document and select "Copy link". Select the appropriate permission settings (for example, allow editing) and copy the generated link.
- Add a SharePoint link in the Teams channel: Return to Teams and select another channel where you want to share the document. Click "+" at the top of the channel to add a new tab, select the "Document Library" or "Site" option, and then paste the copied SharePoint link. Once saved, channel members can access and edit the document through this link.
This way, no matter which channel you edit the document in, all changes will be synced to the same file on SharePoint, ensuring that the documents in both channels are always consistent.
