I have created a Domain controller on a vm on MS Azure. I am unable to add on premises physical machines to it. I get a DNS name does not exist error message. How can I correct this?

    Hello,

Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.

To further troubleshoot this issue, please kindly follow below steps:

1.Check if you have configured the VM as DNS server of on-premises machine.

2.Make sure that the proper domain DNS records are correctly registered by nslookup command.

3.Try to configure virtual network DNS on Azure portal Virtual Network settings.

4.Make sure that there are no firewall rules blocking UDP 53 for DNS and TCP 389 for LDAP.

I hope the information above is helpful.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.

    Best regards,
