Currently, Microsoft Purview doesn’t support directly applying sensitivity labels to file types like images, videos, and PDFs. However, you can still manage and protect these files effectively using Microsoft 365.
Although you can’t apply sensitivity labels directly to images and videos, these files can still benefit from label protection in other ways. For example, when you attach such files to an email, the sensitivity label applied to the email itself will also cover the attachments. This means that even if the label isn’t directly on the image or video, the attachment will be protected according to the email’s label settings.
Additionally, you can use sensitivity labels with files stored in SharePoint and OneDrive. While the labels aren’t applied directly to images or videos, you can still assign labels to these files through the context menu or Information panel. This ensures that the protection settings you’ve defined are enforced, helping keep your sensitive content secure, regardless of the file type.
