My previous laptop had an option to choose a password for my device. Hence whenever I wanted to access the files from my Samsung phone, I could setup an SMB storage form the smartphone device using the password I setup for my laptop. But my new laptop has no password option and I am not able to connect via my smartphone and share files. How do I solve this?

To further troubleshoot this issue, please kindly follow below steps:
1.Go to the file folder and check if the permission is properly granted to the mobile.
2.Go to Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options and set Up a Local Account Password and see if it helps.

Do you see password option here?
Also, it's not just for the mobile. I am not able to access it via network drive mapping in other windows laptops either.
