    Hi,

Monitoring SAN switches and storage devices like StoreOnce and MSL Tape Library with SCOM 2019 involves several steps. Here’s a general guide to get you started:

    1. Install Management Packs: Ensure you have the necessary management packs for your SAN switches and storage devices.
    2. Configure SNMP: Set up SNMP on your SAN switches and storage devices. This allows SCOM to communicate with and monitor these devices.
    3. Add Devices to SCOM: Use the SCOM console to discover and add your SAN switches and storage devices. This typically involves specifying the IP addresses and SNMP community strings.
    4. Create Monitoring Rules: Define rules and monitors in SCOM to track the performance and health of your devices. This can include monitoring metrics like disk usage, network throughput, and error rates.
    5. Set Up Alerts: Configure alerts to notify you of any issues or performance degradation. This helps in proactive management and quick resolution of problems.

For detailed instructions, you might want to refer to the specific user guides for your devices

If you have any specific questions or run into issues, feel free to ask!

    Hi XinGui,

    Thank you for your response.

I have gone through the HPE storage management packs 5.4 and 5.6 versions MP guides.

HP MSL6480 Tape Library (Store ever), HP StoreOnce B6600, HP StoreOnce 6500 D2D devices can be monitored with storage management pack.

But iam not very much sure which ports needs to be enabled on SCOM management servers and Network devices.

I didn't find the port details mentioned for these devices in MP guide.

Opening the below ports works for me to monitor the above devices? Can anyone help me on this?

Currently i was thinking about the below ports.

Let me know if any additional required or any one doesn't require.

UDP ports 161, 162(bidirectional) opened on SCOM management servers.

SNMP service is enabled on SCOM servers. Do we need SNMP WMI provider also to be enabled?

SNMP V3 ports are opened on Network devices.

    Regards,

    Ravi Shankar
