Hi,

I plan to use two Physical Servers with 128 total CPU Cores ( Each Server has 2 CPU sockets and 32 cores on each socket). VMware ESXI will install on the Physical Servers and one single AD Server will install on a VM of a Server (with an 8-core CPU).
How many Windows Server licenses will needed, one 16 Core pack license based on VM or 8 *16-core pack license based on all physical CPU cores?

Regards,

Zaw

    Hello,

According to my understanding, for two servers each with 64 cores, you will need:

    64 cores per server * 2 servers = 128 cores total.

    Since each core pack covers 16 cores, you'll need 128 / 16 = 8 core packs.

Therefore, you will need 8 packs of 16-core licenses to cover all physical cores in both physical servers.
