I can't add my school account to my device

Hello!

I was recommended to seek help here by AJ RAJ, a Microsoft Community Moderator.

I have access to Microsoft 365 etc. through my school account. I tried to connect my school account to my PC through the accounts page in the Windows settings, however, it pulls up an error message and doesn't let me connect.

Please note that this happened after a fresh install with a custom autounattend.xml file because I wanted to reduce bloatware. I probably missed some script that changed something in the registry editor, which might be why it couldn't finish the process.

I'll include the scripts I used below, I hope they help find the issue.

Scripts to run in the system context, before user accounts are created:

Scripts to run whenever a user logs on for the first time:

I really appreciate any help you can provide.

Best,

Aleksi

    Hello @Aleksi Leppänen,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Q&A.

Based on your description and the shared error screenshot, error 0x80180014 occurs when Windows MDM enrollment is disabled in your Intune tenant.

To resolve this issue in a stand-alone Intune environment, follow these steps:

    1. In the Microsoft Intune admin center, go to Devices > Enrollment > Device type restrictions > Device platform restrictions.
    2. Select the restriction that is being applied.
    3. Under Properties, click Edit (next to Platform settings), and set Allow for Windows (MDM).
    4. Click Review + Save.
