Hello, Please help me understand why I am facing this issue: We wanted to use a static list as the entry point in the journey in customer insight, but we found that this is not possible. An alternative solution was to create a segment and add a list to it, ensuring that all contacts who were part of the list would also be included in the segment, allowing us to use that segment as the entry point for our journey. While implementing this, we found that many of the segments show a status of "getting ready" after clicking the "ready to use" button, despite waiting for many days. Moreover, the list we are adding contains fewer than 1,000 contacts. Now we are confused as to why some segments remain in "getting ready" status after so long, while others with the same definition do not. We need help with this. Thank you!

    Hi Mavlers.Dev,

Thank you for posting in the Q&A Forums.

    Data processing takes time:

When you create a segmentation and add a list, the system needs to filter and match the contacts in the list to determine which contacts match the rules for segmentation.

If there are a large number of contacts in the list, or if the segmentation rules are complex, the system may take longer to complete data processing and updates.

    System load and resource constraints:

If the system handles multiple complex segmentation tasks at the same time, or if the system resources (e.g., CPU, memory) are highly utilized, it may result in slower processing of certain segmentation tasks.

In this case, the segmentation may display the “Preparing” status for an extended period of time.

    Configuration issues or errors:

If there are configuration errors or inconsistencies when creating segments or adding lists, the system may not be able to perform segmentation tasks correctly.

This may also cause the segmentation to remain in the “Preparing” state for long periods of time, or ultimately fail to complete successfully.

    The Solution

Check the system status and load:

Check the current status and load of the system to ensure that the system has enough resources to handle the segmentation tasks.

If the load on the system is high, consider performing the segmentation operation during low peak hours.

    Optimize segmentation rules:

Check and optimize segmentation rules to ensure they are both accurate and efficient.

Avoid overly complex or unnecessary rules to reduce system processing time.

    Process contacts in batches:

If the number of contacts in a list is large, try adding the list to the segmentation in batches.

This helps reduce the burden on the system and speeds up the segmentation process.

    Best regards

    NeuviJ
