Wrong name displayed on all Microsoft 365 apps (Macbook)

Question

After updating my name a year ago, the wrong name is still displayed in all Microsoft 365 apps underneath the profile button. The initials are correct, and when I click on it to get the pop up, my name and email are both correct. It is only the first name underneath the profile button that is always wrong.

I have made sure my information is correct in my Microsoft account. Other things I have tried:

• deleting/reinstalling apps, resigning into account, etc.
• deleting stored credentials in keychain
• contacting my school IT department, they said they cannot help and all my information is correct in their system
• asking for a solution in Microsoft help, they just sent me here

Additionally, when I go to log in to Microsoft I have 2 options: one is correct name + correct email, and the other is correct name + incorrect email with wrong name.

• the incorrect email doesn't exist anymore (it was changed by my school IT department when I updated my name)
• I have removed anything related to the wrong email from my Microsoft account
• I have tried to "log out and forget" that option and it still shows up next time I go to log in

I have tried everything I can think of, but I think there must be some cache stored on my computer that is allowing the wrong name and wrong email to show up in random places. This has been really frustrating for me as I use Microsoft professionally, and no one has been able to help so I am hoping someone with far more computer knowledge can help me out.
