Hello Frances Path Quest,
Thank you for posting in Q&A forum.
Here are a few steps you can try to resolve this issue:
- The database might get corrupted, causing duplicate entries. You can force Media Player to rebuild its database by deleting the contents of the folder: C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_8wekyb3d8bbwe\LocalState. Once deleted, the next time you open Media Player, it should rebuild the database
- Ensure that the library locations are listed correctly. Open Media Player and press Ctrl + G to open settings. Verify if the library locations are correct
- Go to Windows settings app to Apps > Installed apps > Media Player. Click the ellipsis (3 dots) > Advanced options > Reset. This will reset the app to its default state
- If resetting doesn't work, you can uninstall Media Player, delete the contents of C:\Users\your username\AppData\Local\Packages\Microsoft.ZuneMusic_8wekyb3d8bbwe, and then reinstall Media Player from the Microsoft Store.
I hope the information above is helpful.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know.
Best Regards,
Daisy Zhou
