Hello,
I have recently changed my phone and when trying to log in it asks me to check my authentication app whilst trying to log in the authentication app… the only other option is to receive a text which is on my old ceased number. How do I amend this situation?

While restoring your credentials, you need to select Restore backup immediately after installing, provided you took a backup on iCloud or MSFT account. Could you try that please?

what steps users need to take to have backup that they can restore, if they changed their phone?
