Azure VM - Access by a subdomain managed by an external DNS (OVH)

Hello,

I have mounted an Azure VM Ubuntu who is accessible from its IP or URL set in free dns azure (LALALA.francecentral.cloudapp.azure.com). The 80 port is open.

I need to set a TXT on it (for letsencrypt)

I have bought a domain name to my provider (ovh) "[uby-monitoring.com/]"
I have set the "A" on IP of my VM, it'ok, i can see the home page from my browser.

But it's just a test, i can't use this root domain, it will be use by another application.

I need to make the same thing with a sub domain of this same domain name (wirepas.uby-monitoring.com). So i have set the "A" record on the IP of my VM, but it'not good, i have an error page.

How can i made for set a sub domain on my Azure VM (and put a TXT record on it) ?

From your verbatim, it appears you are not using Azure DNS.

I would suggest you please work with your DNS Provider to understand how to configure the DNS for sub domains.

I need to use ovh because i have bought the domain name i want tu use on it.

It's not possible to use an external DNS ?

It is possible to use external DNS. There is no blocker from Azure end.

Please make sure the configurations are correct from the vendor side.

Also, when I access http://wirepas.uby-monitoring.com/, I see it is working

Ok, indeed, it's working in incognito window only, strange.

and only in http, not in https. (even with the public ip)

How can i made for permit https://wirepas.uby-monitoring.com/ ?

Port 443 is however open

Glad it is working.

I don't think your application supports HTTPS as of now.

When I access your site with https://<IPAddress> , I am not able to get a response.

(i.e., even without DNS, HTTPS is not working)

I see this is running Apache, please make sure the Apache server configurations are correct.

thanks for your answer, indeed, it's apache that throws me.

I tried to put the ssh module on apache, But it fights the port with nginx.

But it's another problem.
