Recovery services agent's registration has failed

Currently getting this error when finishing the process to set up the ASR appliance (modernised).
Has anyone seen this before? Any help gratefully received.
Setup of appliance failed as service "Microsoft Azure Recovery Services agent health check failed with error: MT_E_SERVICE_AUTHENTICATION_ERROR (807903300)
App registrations have been created in Azure, however no key vault and the appliance is not appearing under the site infrastructure in the recovery vault.
I have checked that the Azure account being used is an owner of the subscription, so has inhereted rights to create resources etc. in the resource group.

Please check the following:
Verify that the service principal for the app registration is correctly configured. You can do this by:
- Navigating to the Azure portal.
- Checking the Certificates & secrets section of your app registration. Make sure that a valid client secret exists and has not expired.
Ensure that there are no firewall rules or network configurations preventing the ASR appliance from reaching Azure services. You might want to temporarily disable any firewalls to rule this out.
If you haven’t already, try reinstalling the Microsoft Azure Recovery Services agent on the appliance. Ensure you are using the latest version.
Please check that you are using the correct Azure subscription and resource group when setting up the ASR appliance.
Ensure that the user account you are using to set up the ASR appliance has the necessary roles assigned within the Azure subscription, such as Owner or Contributor.
If the issue persists after trying the above steps, reach out to Microsoft Azure Technical Support for further assistance.
