I have been trying to follow the instructions as per following video.
But cannot achieve the goal. As per my understanding, he just enable the EntraID login option and then assign Virtual Machine Administrator role to the given user. Then he could login. I try to achieve the same goal, creating a new VM and exactly following the videos but not ok. Also tried adding the extension to the existing VM. But same result.

As per the video instructions, you can create and launch VMs using Bastion without any additional steps except assigning the VM Administrator role from the IAM section using assign role. Kindly provide the username and password of the VM while given on the VM creation process and make sure it has the correct details. You will be able to login to VM using Bastion. If you are facing an issue, please share a screenshot of the error message with us for better assistance. We’re happy to assist further.

Actually, can you pls check my questions and the video again? I understand I can login, providing username and password at Azure Bastion but my goal here is to sign into the vm using my EntraID credentials. The video and documents also state clearly that we can login using EntraID but I can't even after following the instruction. Can you please check the details again? Thanks!

As you may check the video, he did create local username and password but when he login using Bastion, he used his EntraID credentials and succeeded. When I try to follow the exact way, I just can't login using my EntraID account. Please kindly be understood that I am not trying to login using local username and password but EntraID.

Thanks for your patience. If you are observing the Azure portal, the UI is changing with the latest updates. From the documentation video, it refers to older UI options, and this will take time to update with the latest updated video. If you are checked Enable system assigned managed identity, enabled Managed identities provide an automatically managed identity in Microsoft Entra ID for applications to use when connecting to resources that support Microsoft Entra authentication. Applications can use managed identities to obtain Microsoft Entra tokens without having to manage any credentials. With the updated Azure, you will get a login with a VM password and Keyvault stored password options as shown in below screenshot.
