Authorization Error – Unable to Access Tenant Resources with live account

Hello,

I'm experiencing an issue with my paid subscription, which I use for tests and experiments. Despite knowing that I am using a live account, this morning I am unable to log in and access my subscription again.

I only have this account for accessing the subscription (so logout and login with different account is not feasible) , and I haven't found a way to resolve the issue. Could you please assist me in fixing this?

The logged in user is not authorized to fetch tokens for extension 'Microsoft_Azure_Support' because the user account is not a member of tenant TENANT_ID Error details: invalid_grant: 50020 - [2024-09-24 11:36:25Z]: AADSTS50020: User account '{EUII Hidden}' from identity provider 'live.com' does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application ''(Azure Portal) in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Sign out and sign in again with a different Azure Active Directory user account.

I understand the error your live account is not associated with the specified Azure AD tenant; you won't be able to log in. Only accounts that are part of the tenant can access it.

Please check if you can log in to the Azure portal for your home tenant by accessing portal.azure.com/yourTenantId. If you encounter any errors, we can connect to discuss them further.

So sorry for the delayed response—I've been very busy and forgot to respond. Sorry again !!

Regarding your suggestion about connecting to portal.azure.com/yourTenantId, I was able to access it, but I’m still unable to view the subscription and continue to encounter the error I mentioned earlier.

I also wanted to share a concern. Although I’ve created a new subscription, I still have billed resources on the old one ( the sub that I no longer see). My goal is to "remove" the old subscription to stop the recurring billing. That's my main goal :)

Recreating the environment on the new subscription is fine, but I need assistance with properly removing the old one to prevent any further charge.

No Problem :),

Please check your registered email for the details of your subscription Tenant ID and ensure that you are using the correct Tenant ID when entering portal.azure.com/TenantID.

Hi Goutam,

Yes, I confirm that the tenant and the email are correct. I have double-checked them against my past Azure invoices. Please let me know how to proceed in resolving this issue.

I agree that this issue looks strange, and I would recommend to raise the support ticket. If you have a support plan could you please file a support ticket for deeper investigation and do share the SR# with us? In case if you don't have a support plan, please let us know here.
