On Azure Ai Search course (https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/training/modules/search-data-outside-azure-platform-cognitive-search/02-index-data-from-external-data-sources-factory), the data source is supposed to be a non-compressed JSON, but I can't select such option in the copy data tool (see screen attached).

How can I choose to have no compression type on the input ?

Thx :) Screenshot 2024-09-24 at 16.15.11

@marc moreaux - Thanks for the question and using MS Q&A platform.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Yes, there is no option to select the Compression type: None in the Copy data tool and we had reported to the content author to update the document with the necessary changes. And I will update you once the MS learn document is fixed with the changes.

Note: If you try to use any compression type, you will experiencing the error message as shown:

Workaround untill the fixing the Copy Data tool:

You can use copy activity pipeline in ADF and try to select the In Source type, select HTTP and Destination type, select Azure Search.

When you select Source type, select HTTP in the copy activity pipeline you will be seeing the Compression type: None

Now, you are preview the content of the Source type, select HTTP in the copy activity pipeline.User's image

For more details, refer to Copy activity in Azure Data Factory and Azure Synapse Analytics.

Hope this helps. Do let us know if you have any further queries.
