Loss of data after recovery on hyper-v

Hello everyone, I’m in a big trouble and I don’t know if anyone has had a similar issue and could help me.

I have a physical machine on which I installed 3 virtual machines with hyper-v. Last Saturday, one of the VMs did not start. In order to fix the problem, I had to press restore even though I didn't have a checkpoint. This being Hyper-v brought the machine back to the VM creation state. What's serious is a database VM so I lost everything. A solution to just recover my data? Please

    Hello,

On rare occasions, if you have Shadow Copies enabled on your VM, you might be able to recover previous versions of your files. You can access Shadow Copies by right-clicking on the folder where the database was stored and selecting ‘Restore previous versions’.

Even if you didn’t create a Hyper-V checkpoint, there might be other backups. Check if your database software was configured to create backups on its own or if the database was replicated to another location.

If the lost data is absolutely critical and none of the above worked, there are forensic data recovery services that might be able to recover the data. These services can be expensive, but if the data is worth it, they might be your last resort.

    Best Regards,

    Hania Lian
