How can I link my account to Authenticator when the app requests a code from the app?

I am the only admin for my small business and can no longer access Office 365 and am locked out of my emails. I am directed use Authenticator but it is not linked to the business account. When I try to log in I'm referred to the app in 2 different ways (approve a request or send a code). link it, I'm asked for a verification code from the app, which keeps me in a self-referential loop. When I try to set up my phone as an verification method the app says the device needs deregistering first.

I've been through GoDaddy's support to try to disable security and MFA on their side, but the issue persists.

I would rather use a different verification method altogether, but there is no option to choose.

Any advice would be appreciated.
