MAUI Android Debug Build Runs when debugging but not when not debugging

I have a dotnet MAUI app. I am building and debugging on a apple silicon mac. I am using VSCode and the MAUI plugin.
When I build and debug it runs.
When I then stop debugging and try to run the app on the device, it shows the splashscreen and then crashes.
Here is the output from logcat:

Typically, this error indicates a problem with the packaging of the application.
You can try the following to resolve this issue:
- Clean the
binandobjfolders and restart Visual Studio Code to build. - Update Maui related nuget packages to the latest stable version.
