Attachment icon disappeared after connecting with data source

I have issue when I try to connect the model with my data source, the attachment icon disappeared. I already try to change the model to GPT-4, but the attachment icon still disappeared. Need help with this or is there any documents I can refer? Thank you.

@Farah Diana Masri Do you mean Add a data source option that you see in the first screen shot?

The second screen shot does not show it since you already attached a search index, you can only attach one data source as a feature. If you need to add more data, update your index and use the same data source after reindexing. I hope this helps!!

Hi sorry, I think you misunderstood my question. Basically, the attachment icon beside the mic icon at the bottom right (image 1) is appear when I did not connect with my data source. However, after I connect with my own data source that has images in it, suddenly the attachment icon beside the mic icon at the bottom right (image 2) disappeared resulting on me cannot use the upload documents/ images function. Is it after connecting with our own data source, we cannot use the upload function? Hope you can help. Thank you.

@Farah Diana Masri I can confirm that the same behavior is seen with my deployment too. With BYOD feature this option was only available with GPT4 Turbo with vision model which is now deprecated. See this page for details.

After the GPT4-Turbo with Vision preview model is deprecated, you'll no longer be able to use Azure OpenAI on your image data. To implement a RAG solution with image data, see the sample on GitHub.

Hmm, I'm not sure this answers the question. I am seeing the same behavior as well. In my case, I am using GPT-4o which has Vision. As long as I don't add my own dataset, I can attach images to the chat interface (via the paperclip icon) just fine and it analyzes the images. However, as soon as I set up my own data set (via "Add your data"), the "paperclip" icon in the chat interface disappears instantly. At that point you can unlink the dataset and re-link to watch the paperclip icon re-appear and disappear in real time.

I guess the question is if this is a bug or expected? Is it not possible to use a custom data set (an Azure AI index/vecotr Search) with the bot generally, but also attach a single file in the chat interface for individual threads at the same time?
