Do I need the Azure IC (Entra ID) P1 licenses?

Hello,

I had a Windows 2016 Server (Essential) that I had only files on it. I used Azure AD to keep the domain that I could login to both the Physical server and the Azure. I purchased four Azure ID licenses. I created a SharePoint site and moved all my files to it. I retired the Physical server but the old domain is still in place. Do I still need the licenses?

I appreciate your help.

Jamshid

    Hi @Jamshid Javidi

Thank you for reaching Microsoft Q&A forum!

I understand that you would like to know that the Entra ID licenses requirement for retired Physical server.
If you have retired the physical server and moved all your files to SharePoint. However, it depends on your current usage.
If you are still using Entra ID for identity management, such as logging into other Azure services or managing user identities, you will need to maintain the appropriate Entra ID licenses like Entra ID Premium P1 or P2 licenses are often required for advanced features.
If the old domain is still in place but not actively used for authentication or other services, you might not need the same level of licensing
Hope this helps. Do let us know if you any further queries by responding in the comments section.

    Thanks,

    Akhilesh.
