Editing Excel (Office script) files outside excel

Question

Hello

I tried openning and editing Officesript files with Vstudio code however it could not recognize it and there are no extensions sadly for it and copying from excel and pasting it to an empty .ts file works however it does not recognize the excelsheet object so its half useless. I am really new here however i find the excels editor quite small and i would like to look to better alternatives to it.

I am quite new here so i am sorry if this is a stupid question :(
