Microsoft Download Center - All Download Links Broken

All KB articles that link to the Microsoft Download Center appear to be broken.

Ex:

  1. KB5042207 - Description of the security update for SQL Server 2016 SP3 GDR: September 10, 2024
  2. How to obtain and install the update -> Method 3 Microsoft Download Center -> Download the package now
  3. This links to https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?familyid=bcaa232a-0e0c-4ae9-b4d8-7a27d8453595 However, instead of being directed to the specific page to download the update file, the site instead redirects to the generic https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download page.

This seems to be happening for all of the SQL Server KBs that I've tried from this page:

https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/troubleshoot/sql/releases/download-and-install-latest-updates#sql-server-2016

Edit: All download links with "?familyid=" in the URL are failing:

http://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?familyid=

Conversely, all download links with "?id=" in the URL work as expected:

https://www.microsoft.com/download/details.aspx?id=

So, the underlying issue is the redirects from the "?familyid=" url to the "?id=" url is failing.
