Verification method

Hi everyone

I just registered for Azure. The registration process was fine and I received an E-mail confirmation that my new Azure subscription is live and that can go now to the Azure Portal.

Unfortunately I can't access the Portal. When I want to sign in it I have to verify my identity. I don't know how this happened, but it shows another phone number (from a company I work with - I share a SharePoint with them).

When i go to "Are your verification methods current? Check at https://aka.ms/mfasetup" and try to log in, i get the following error message: "Selected user account does not exist in tenant 'Microsoft Services' and cannot access the application '0000000c-0000-0000-c000-000000000000' in that tenant. The account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first. Please use a different account."

How do I proceed?

    Hi @Simón Anliker

Thank you for sharing your issue on Microsoft Q&A.

I understand you're having trouble with identity verification due to an incorrect phone number linked to your account. It appears that your account needs to be added as an external user in the tenant first.

The issue appears to be that you’re being redirected to a different tenant where your user account is added as a guest account. This could explain why a different phone number is showing during verification, as you may have registered with that phone number in the other tenant, which could explain why it’s appearing there. To resolve this, please try accessing your new tenant at portal.azure.com/<yourtenantID> using the new tenant ID you received in your email.

If you continue to encounter the same error, please let us know. Remember to keep a record of any error messages, as this information will be helpful for troubleshooting.

    Best regards,

    Harshitha Eligeti
