Unable to connect to Azure SQL Database through Azure AI Search, as shown in this picture when clicked on Databases nothing is shown here but when I use endpoint of server less SQL on Power Bi, and Microsoft SQL Server Management Studio, it shows the name of all databases, I have also provided the permissions like Storage Blob Data Reader, Owner, Distributor, SQL Server Contributor to Azure Ai Search on Subscription level, but still unable to connect. The below screen captures shows that Power Bi, and MS SQL Server Management Studio are showing the names of the databases.

@Lovedeep Singh Thanks for your response and sharing more details on this.

I have checked with the internal team, and they have informed that all the built-in SQL serverless pool that is created in synapse won't be shown under your subscription and that is reason you are not able to create a data source with Azure AI search service.

Also, the scope of this serverless pool will be within the workspace only.

We have observed that we can create the data source in AI search with dedicated SQL pool in synapse workspace.

If you want to create a data source with Serverless SQL I would suggest you create an Azure SQL database in serverless mode and try connecting to search service from it.

Hope this helps, let me know if you have any further questions on this.
