Microsoft Copilot and Sharepoint

Hello Professionals who have apparently WAY more knowledge about this than I do!

My IT Director has purchased licenses for Microsoft Copilot for me and my sysadmin - and has asked me to create proof-of-concept chat bots using it so that we can demonstrate usability to the rest of the company.

But most of the documents we'd be using are on our Sharepoint site.

I've been grilling both Copilot Desktop and Copilot Studio on how to give Copilot access to specific Sharepoint folders and ... boy - talk about a runaround! Nothing gives me any clear answers. Sometimes, Copilot Desktop tells me I need to enable a service account - but there's no service account. Then when I ask about creating a service account, it goes into data sources in the Copilot Settings in Microsoft Admin Center (but there's no Data Sources option in the Copilot settings in Microsoft Admin Center).

Can anyone help me with this? I'm so thoroughly confused I can't even tell if I should be working with Copilot Desktop or Copilot Studio lol

Thanks,

-- Allen
