SharePoint Online - How to let user see breadcrumbs in a document library so they can access folder

Question

I granted a user access to a specific folder in our Finance document library but can only access the folder via a link. How can I allow the user to traverse the folders in the document library so they can access the specific folder?

Example: User has acess to the Sales ACH folder in the Finance Doc library. However when logging into SharePoint Online, then click the Finance tab, no folders are shown. The path is Finance>Auths>Sales ACH

Any help/guidance would be greatly appreciated. I tried putting the user in the Finance Visitors group but they were able to see and open files they were not supposed to have access to.

Hi @Anonymous ,

By design, users can only access the subfolder using a direct link. They can't see the parent folders.

This is because the user only has Read permission to this subfolder, while just has Limted Access permission to the parent folder and the Up-level folder.
